Types of Braces

We have different types of braces and will help you go through the options and find the best type of braces for you. Read below for a descriptions of all the different types of braces and clear aligners we offer.

Shin Orthodontics

Metal Braces

Recent improvements in traditional braces have made them smaller, stronger and less noticeable. Metal braces are the most common type of braces, and are more comfortable now than ever before. With metal braces, you have the option to customize your smile by choosing different colored elastic ties - the little donut shaped rubber bands that hold your arch wire in.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are less visible than metal braces. Generally, ceramic braces require a little more TLC because they are more fragile than metal braces. Patients who choose ceramic braces must maintain excellent oral hygiene to help keep the elastic ties from discoloring. Because ceramic braces require a bit more care, they are popular with adults and older teenagers.

INBRACES Lingual Braces

Completely hidden behind your teeth INBRACE is the truly invisible way to a better smile. Advanced computer modelling and AI algorithms are combined to determine the shortest path for each tooth from where it is today, to its position in your new smile. By moving teeth efficiently, INBRACE does not apply nearly as much force as traditional braces or aligners to move teeth.

Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen®

Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable plastic trays to gradually straighten teeth, without metal or wires. Invisalign aligners are practically invisible and allow patients to eat and drink whatever they want. It is also easier to keep your teeth clean while wearing Invisalign and the trays can be removed for special occasions. Invisalign is not the best option for all orthodontic problems, and can only be worn by teens and adults.
